I dislike mistrust Like I dislike rust On my car’s underside With which water does collide Then moisture resides Like beaches and tides But rust is irrelevant No matter how malevolent Well that’s a good rhyme I rather like its chime But I do dislike time Specifically the lack of mine Meaning I’m always rushed My opinions always hushed Not a thought I can tell Which I dislike as well There are so many things With many attached strings Oh I could go on strike Against everything I dislike

The thoughts ravage his mind He walks the abandoned road No purpose whatsoever Emotional overload He fractures and crumbles With every step taken Collapsing from within He has been forsaken He is lost from the world Collapsing along with him Sinking ever deeper With man’s petty whims The road fades to the land He halts his pace Negativity still brooding Darkness fills all space The road is now gone Not a remnant shown Spare the twisted bent sign Standing alone It bares the words “dead end” The end of this path Same goes for his life And the world by its wrath The world at his back Staring into the end He ventures forwa

I believe that there is good in the world And I don’t believe that evil has unfurled But I do, in those that have lost their path Tormented by all for their misguided wrath And it is them we blame for each tragic slip From the fountain of ignorance, we all take our sips In a society where we all should live as one We must all claim responsibility for each troubled son I assure you that I defend no action of theirs I merely suggest we bring about different cares No soul has ever entered this world a sad, twisted being We corrupt the innocent and spend our lives fleeing Running in fear of the monsters we’ve made Monsters we have con

Light and darkness Good and evil In every part of life However so trivial Warmth and cold Life and death A struggle for survival To the deepest of depths Necessity and luxury Fact and unknown Information long lost In every wind since blown Right and wrong Love and hate Do what you must Before it’s too late Justice and corruption Heaven and hell We all ask the questions Not a single soul tells

You were always so bright And so full of life Yet there were those who judged Simply to give you strife No one saw it coming At least not from you Now all that judged Are shocked so true Your stress was too much And your pain, too great Now all that judged Find apologies too late You have found a better place And there you belong Now all that judged See they are wrong To say you will be missed Is an understatement at least May we all find comfort That you’ve found your peace

There is one annoying thing That is a habit of mine Whenever I write a poem There must always be some rhyme This habit isn’t exactly bad But more of an inconvenience For to write a verse without a rhyme Gives me quite a grievance It matters not the strictness of rhyme As long as it exists Irritating as sometimes this habit can be I know it will always persist So instead of trying to break this habit I actually gave it a home I now embrace this habit quite strongly Giving my poetry a style its own

The promises, so many, so broken Things I can’t bear hear spoken Every success, triumph, and victory They all might as well been trickery I have won nothing in the end These stinging truths I cannot bend I have crushed my own dreams Tore out all of the seems Our love once twirled I could have promised you the world Yet I promised my heart I was the one who failed their part My love is the promise broken So much pain left in words unspoken

Through the window All I see Is my pain and anger Staring back at me I know what is right Yet do what is wrong I have suffered like this All along My heart aches in agony Trying to let me know That if I continue this way It’ll be the reason I go As I write this I hold back a tear Remembering my mistakes And fighting my fear The time has come To trample this foe Break from the norm And live on the other side of the window

Under my bed?! You can’t be serious I’d wind up dead Or at least delirious I have not been under there In quite a few years For lying beneath Are oh some many fears I’ll list the dangers So now you can know My numerous reasons For not wanting to go First there’s the dust Heaping in piles Dust so repulsive I’d prefer crocodiles Next is the lint Matted with dirt and hair It would give any man Quite a scare Last is the darkness Which keeps you from seeing These terrible things That could harm your being So there you go I’ve explained myself Perhaps next time I’ll explain the fear of my shelf
